study skills
Today, I want to talk about the valuable information I found in the study skills video. I found the first thing is the active recalled. Active recall means that you must recall what you know without looking at the answers. I think this technique is very good compared to my previous experience. From my previous experience, I read the text many times because it is the easiest method and there is no pressure but the most efficient way of learning is active learning. Even if you think that active recall is a difficult way to learn, but it will make more effort and will make your brain more active, which will allow you to get better retain knowledge.
The second thing is spaced repetition. I also knew this technique before watching the video, but I didn't do it. After watching the 3 best science learning techniques I understand the benefits of spaced repetition. spaced repetition makes your learning more efficient and easy because you should know that the longer you wait, the harder it is for you to remember. From my previous experience. I have no planned learning time and I have not allocated time. It depends on my mood, this makes me study hard and have no motivation.
Let's continue to the next topic, the active reading is the one I found for the study skills video. Do you feel that after reading this book, you don’t know what information is given to you? This is because you passively flip through the text once to experience it, but actively reading can pull out some useful things to think about the book. After knowing the benefits of active reading, I thought I would give it a try. There are two techniques I really want to try. The first is pseudo skimming. You just need to quickly go through each paragraph and find the most important part. Judging from how I feel about this technique now, I think it will save me a lot of time. The second step is to think about questions while reading and take notes while reading. I think this can be done at the same time. The last step is just to use active recall to review the book. I think when I know this technique, I will be more confident.
The last topic I want to talk about is my previous experience with the concept of media literacy. The first time I knew media literacy was on TV when I was young. At that time, media literacy was not that high. You could only obtain information through TV, newspapers, or the people closest to you. But as I grew up, media literacy became more and more, you can use different methods to obtain relevant information. Because there is more and more information, you will know that some message is not for you. It is much different from my previous experience.
